Tapping into her unmatched instincts for unearthing timeless underground sounds, Arielle Free’s latest offering hits the mark dead-on. “U Get Me High” is an anabolic house track sculpted for motion. Its tightly woven percussion is punctuated by ‘90s-style hip-hop vocal cues and classic piano rave stabs, while soulful, pitched-up hooks and cooing harmonies heighten the intoxicating effects of her club concoction. Underpinned by sweat-inducing festival and warehouse energy, it’s easy to see why the track has become a crowd-favorite for Ibiza-goers who caught her sets at UNVRS, Amnesia, Chinois, and more.
Arielle Free sheds light on how the track came together, and the feedback she’s received from it while on tour, saying: “This one was a straight-up studio groover that came really easily. I love a piano moment in any set and wanted to have something that would bring a moment of lightness during my club sets. Having roadtested it over the summer and in Ibiza, it seems to be just the tonic amongst the harder leaning music I fire out in the club. Always love a vocal that brings pure joy to the dance floor, and ‘U Get Me High’ does just that.”
Glasgow-grown Arielle Free is a Scottish tastemaker whose entire existence has revolved around rhythm and movement. Since childhood, she studied the art of dance, cultivating that connection to become one of the most influential voices in dance music. The multi-faceted phenom splits her time between running her ‘Free Your Mind’ label and club nights, captivating crowds with her DJ sets and scene-shaping house productions, and hosting broadcasts for the cultural institution ‘Rave Up’ on BBC Radio 1.
Her presence within the touring circuit continues to skyrocket off the charts, as well, having graced renowned venues and festivals, including Printworks, Creamfields, Parklife, Glastonbury, and TRNSMT. She is fresh off her six-date ‘Free Your Mind’ residency at UNVRS Ibiza, and has upcoming headline shows at Ice Cream Factory and IVY in Australia. Rounding out the year, Arielle is set to perform at Creamfields Thailand in December, alongside an Australia & Asia tour.
With “U Get Me High,” Arielle Free offers a head-spinning dose of classic rave energy funneled into an ecstatic piano-led track poised to be an instant classic.
