A meeting of electronic dance music and country-inflected songwriting
Two worlds of music meet on “What If I Told You”, the new single from global electronic music icon Armin van Buuren and acclaimed Dutch singer-songwriter Douwe Bob. Bringing together Armin’s signature electronic sound and Douwe Bob’s distinctive songwriting and country influences, the track captures the excitement of stepping beyond familiar boundaries and taking a chance on something new.
The collaboration made its live debut in front of an audience of 40,000 at the Johan Cruijff ArenA during AMF on October 24, 2026, offering listeners an early taste of the collaboration ahead of its official release. AMF is one of the flagship events of Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), bringing the global electronic music community together in Amsterdam. It was also premiered by Radio 538 on September 29th, and the duo appeared live on TV at Eva Jinek the same day.
“What If I Told You” is officially released on October 30th, 2026, by Armada Music in collaboration with Breaking Records.

AN UNEXPECTED LATE-NIGHT INSPIRED COLLABORATION
The track began with a late-night moment of inspiration for Douwe Bob, who immediately imagined Armin as the right collaborator. The result brings together two artists whose musical worlds meet in an unexpected but natural way.
Armin van Buuren: “When Douwe told me how this song came to him in the middle of the night, and that he immediately thought of me for it, it felt like the perfect moment to finally create something together. I really love the way his songwriting and country influences come together with my sound on this record. It brings back some of the feeling of ‘This Is What It Feels Like’, but with a fresh perspective that feels very true to where we are today.”
Douwe Bob: “I always knew that if I ever stepped outside my own genre and into dance music, Armin would be the person I’d want to work with. Growing up, he was already such a huge name in music, and his tracks have been part of my life ever since. I love dancing, working out and running to his music. Now I get to do all of that to a track we made together. Talk about life goals!
Life is about taking chances, and that’s exactly what this song is about.”
