The collaboration sees the duo lean into an electro-pop lane and dive into a medley of sounds that influenced their upbringing. These influences are seamlessly reflected in the instrumental elements, showcasing a fresh approach they’ve embraced for their upcoming album, ‘Together As One,’ set to arrive next month. Lena Leon helms the track with weightless vocals, crafting a lyrical plea for rescue that mirrors the artists’ personal experience as well as the thematic continuance of ‘Together as One’ as an emotionally intelligent and raw work of art.
ARMNHMR shares, “With “Lifeline,” we wanted to bring in the sounds that influenced us growing up. Overall, we believe that great art stays true to ourselves and the influences that make us, well, us. Working with Lena was a perfect fit. We got connected through the team at Monstercat. She’s an amazing songwriter and has a long list of heavy hitters under her belt. We’ve always been fans of her music over the years and are so stoked that we get this opportunity to finally work with her.”
Lena Leon adds, “I co-wrote “Lifeline” with my good friend GG Ramirez who was there for me during a really hard period of my life. From 2016-2018, I was in a situation in a former artist project where I was emotionally abused, thought I had no control of my life and thought I couldn’t find a way out of it. She was literally the lifeline I needed at the time and I’m eternally grateful for her friendship and that she helped me write this song about my story! I’ve been a fan of ARMNHMR for a while now and it was such an honor to work with them!”
ARMNHMR has consistently demonstrated their ability to touch hearts while keeping crowds dancing. The first two singles from ‘Together as One’ (“Drowning (feat. Heleen)” and (“Someone To Forget” with Lights) explored the depths of the human experience, touching on anxiety, love, and grief as themes woven through the package. These emotionally-charged tracks have resonated deeply with audiences on their current 20-stop tour, which has sold over 20,000 tickets on their headline stops alone, captivating crowds at renowned festivals like EDC Las Vegas, where they had 3 separate sets, and leaving a lasting impression at venues like Observatory Festival Grounds in Santa Ana and Ogden Theatre in Denver.
Renowned chart-topper Lena Leon has left an undeniable mark on the music industry with her impressive collection of hit songs. She has wrote and sung with her mesmerizing vocals on mega-hits like “Spiral,” which soared to the top of dance radio charts, securing her first solo dance single to reach a #1 position and #3 on Billboard Mix/Show Airplay charts. She’s also behind the captivating track, “The Truth,” from Kygo and Valerie Broussard, and Annabel Englund’s dance radio hit, “Midnight Rapture,” another track to claim a #1 spot on dance radio. Furthermore, her collaborations with Tiësto, Tchami and Habstrakt, and Wooli have further cemented her reputation as a versatile and sought-after artist in the electronic space.
Closing out of phase 1 for their eponymous tour, ARMNHMR are heading to Europe for their first time and debuting at Tomorrowland on July 22. Next, they will head to their debut at Lollapalooza in Chicago, and make their anticipated return to Lost Lands.
