On “Killing Time,” the two Kaurna Country-bred mavericks construct a oneiric realm where shoegaze raptures bleed into shadowy ambient vastness. Kane’s haunting electronic textures wind their tendrils around Patterson’s visceral, physically-charged compositional approaches, conjuring a transcendent exposition on the endless cyclicality of human experience.

From new beginnings to relationships that stand the test of time, there are always things we are learning about each other,” Kane and Patterson remark. “We are constantly evolving, navigating new situations…the challenge is finding the way through the layers and communicating what we need to become better versions of ourselves. That’s the eternal battle.”

Kane’s melancholic synth arabesques merge with Patterson’s rich vocal regains, embodying the perpetual flux between intimacy and the untamed expanses of existence. Inspired by iconic catalysts like Jon Hopkins, Icehouse, Roxy Music, Joy Division and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, their union manifests as a meditation on art’s regenerative capacities.

Kane and Patterson have spent the past year merging their creative minds to craft a continuous output of ambient-driven, introspective productions, including “Hole Song,” “Red,” and their hit single, “Medusa,” which independently amassed over 300,000 streams across all DSPs. “Killing Time” is the first of 13 forthcoming immersive compositions spanning from shadowy ambient realms to shoegaze-tinged depths. As they prepare to propel their creative partnership further, the duo’s shared mantra remains: embrace the present and transcend all limitations.
