Godlands shares, “’Charmer’ was made as a trauma response. I had just finished celebrating my birthday in Bali with a group of friends and my mum. We were just about to get on the airplane home before my mum collapsed in the airport. I took her straight to hospital and it turned out she had a parasite and COVID. My mum and I had to spend a week longer in Bali while she recovered. This song was made while she was recovering, and I believe I made this just to express my feelings. It was an extremely stressful and emotionally-charged week seeing my mum go through such immense pain and seeing her so sick.”

With the anticipation of Godlands’ EP building, fans can get a taste of what is to come with “Charmer” and her previous release, “u want me.” This new slew of music nods to the narrative of the EP that consists of inspiration from her real-life experiences, personal battles, and emotions that are portrayed in each track.

Godlands’ career has seen an uphill trajectory that is bound to keep growing. She has taken her  boundary-pushing stylings across the globe the last few years with performances at Tomorrowland (which she will return to this year), Monstercat’s ADE Showcase, Rhythm & The Reef, and more. She’s collaborated with like-minded electronic producers such as Blanke and Tisoki, rappers including boler mani, and has been supported by Marshmello, Zeds Dead, NGHTMRE, and more. Her records have been heard in the video game Rocket League, and across triple j and BBC

Godlands Bio

A forerunner of the new wave of Australian electronic music, Godlands has been making noise across the globe with her enviable ability to create hip-hop-infused productions and heavy festival bangers. Tearing up the trap scene, this Adelaide-based producer quickly emerged as a favorite for the likes of Triple J and BBC Radio 1, as her music has proved that her production prowess can stand up to the Australian bass stalwarts who have come before her.

During a time of global turmoil, in the midst of a pandemic, Godlands never wavered in her love for creating music. Instead of wallowing in the inability to tour, she became a sponge for creativity and saw it as an opportunity to sharpen her craft and hone in on her unique style. Fast forward to 2022 and this drive ultimately paid off. Godlands inked an EP deal with Monstercat, a label that she has strived to become a part of since her journey began. With her first single releasing in March of this year and the full EP in June, Godlands is full steam ahead and there is no signs of slowing down any time soon.
