Avalon Emerson has shared a new single. ‘E After Next’, which fans of Emerson will have heard played in her sets lately, is a reimagining of Moby’s ‘Next Is The E’, originally featured on his 1992 self-titled debut album.
‘E After Next’ is the latest cut from Emerson’s dancefloor-led ‘Perpetual Emotion Machine’ project, with ‘Sort of Like a Dream’ featuring Anunaku, aka TSVI, and ‘You’re My World’ featuring Priori both released last month.
The ‘Perpetual Emotion Machine’ project is described as a living, evolving project” and “a conduit for human connection” inspired by “different genres across different decades”. The project is the successor to Emerson’s 2023 dream-pop album ‘Avalon Emerson & The Charm’.
“These songs were created for my DJ sets,” she said of the project’s dancefloor focus. “Whether they’re entirely original, edits to recontextualize old favorites, instrumental, or feature me singing, they are all part of my perpetual emotion machine. And the machine steams on.”
