Ben Malone becomes the latest tastemaker to helm KISS’ Friday night 11 PM show, with the move seeing the hotly-tipped DJ/producer soundtracking the legendary station’s premier dance show. Launching Friday 4th March, the new slot will combine fresh music and exclusive interviews from emerging artists to established international headliners, with the move placing him at the heart of UK radio’s longstanding Friday night dance schedule.
A champion of up-and-coming talent, and one of the first major broadcasters to support breakout artists such as Prospa, Franky Wah, ABSOLUTE., Effy, AmyElle, Tibasko, Emily Nash and more, Malone’s previous Saturday night show has seen him at the centre of recent revivals across melodic, breakbeat and trance-influenced sounds – something he’ll expand on as he provides a platform for listeners to discover exciting artists from across the electronic spectrum.
“Friday nights have always been the place to go for brand new dance music, so I’m super excited to be moving into my new slot! It’s amazing to see the music and artists that we play on the show growing each year, so to bring these sounds to a new, larger audience is a great opportunity. Friday nights just got a whole lot bigger!” – Ben Malone.
Malone picks up the mantle from Toolroom boss Mark Knight who moves to Saturday nights, with the London-based tastemaker joining the likes of Pete Tong in soundtracking the UK’s pre-club audiences as he broadcasts weekly from the KISS FM studios in central London.
With over a decade’s experience as a DJ, producer, broadcaster and A&R, with other broadcast credentials including Sirius XM, Rinse FM and Represent Radio, the new slot sees Malone continue his ascent as one of the UK’s most promising dance music broadcasters. Starting his Saturday night KISS slot in January 2019, the past three years have seen Malone become a central part of the KISS family and a producer known for pushing new talent via his own’ Future Five’ series. Alongside his KISS role, Malone also features as an A&R at globally renowned dance label Armada, recently launching his production career with releases via Armada Electronic Elements and ZeroThree Records, and founding his event series, APEX.
