Berlin-based label and newly opened record store SEVEN presents its third compilation 17th July 2026, featuring Ground 16, Limbic Sis, LUMBAGO, MARGO, BRUNA, Nesa Azadikhah, Theo Scuera, and YNNY. The queer- and FLINTA*-leaning label often deals in uplifting grocers that bring smiles and serious shapes, now highlighting a bunch of promising newcomers across Berlin, Paris, Hamburg, and Switzerland, plus one established star from Iran.
Ground16 follows his recent debut on SEVEN sublabel a.2aum, opening with the silky loops of ‘Blurred’ with sugary synths cooking up frothy, fuzzy house warmth. The boundary-pushing Plot Records head Limbic Sis then layers percussive accents into melancholic chords and heads-down drums on ‘sigh’, while LUMBAGO turns up the pressure with a fluid, progressive charmer infused with watercolour-style synths. MARGO’s ‘Danca Ritmo’ (ft. BRUNA) follows, powered by prickly percussion and tight drum programming, made sexy by soft whispers and warped words.
Nesa Azadikha is a percussionist and producer from Iran who dedicates her music to her people fighting for freedom back home, and, on ‘Boundless Imagination’, uses house the way it was originally intended: as a rhythmic, electronic escape and a form of cultural expression for oppressed people and communities. Closing out are Theo Scuera with the widescreen techno soul of ‘Groove Mechanics and YNNY’s thumping but cuddly dub house pounder ‘Take 5’, complete with swirling vocals that add a touch of midnight romance.
