Billain Unveils Final Sampler Single ‘ESEF’ Ahead of Bold New ‘Mirror’ Album Project

Out 15th August on Evolution Chamber, ‘ESEF’ is the final single from Bosnian sound design icon and multi-disciplinary artist Billain, taken from his highly-anticipated new album ‘Mirror’, landing 29th August 2025.

A total genre meltdown, ‘ESEF’ is chaos by design. It fuses Drumstep, Jump Up, Happy Hardcore and Neurofunk into a six-minute adrenaline dump. Like much of ‘Mirror’, it rejects convention and pushes Billain’s audio storytelling to the edge, twisting cartoon logic into extreme sonic form.

It’s noisy. It’s glitchy. It’s completely unhinged. And it captures the kind of energy you’d expect from an artist who’s spent over a decade tearing up the rulebook between experimental sound, bass music and sci-fi narrative.

The release follows ‘Afterburner’ and ‘Doomed Heart’, which gave fans their first glimpse into the world of ‘Mirror’, a dense, cinematic album experience built around themes of distortion, identity and the hyperreal.

The full album will be previewed during an exclusive listening session and AMA at Let It Roll, followed by a headline performance on the Evolution Chamber stage, where Billain will debut brand-new material in front of a festival audience primed for chaos.

With ‘Mirror’, Billain delivers his most uncompromising vision to date. Seventeen tracks. A complete audio-visual world. Supported by original artwork, physical collectables and interactive drops that break the fourth wall between artist and audience.

A frequent collaborator in film, gaming and immersive media, Billain’s world-building spans multiple disciplines. He’s scored scenes for Hollywood productions like ‘Pacific Rim Uprising’ and ‘Hunter Killer’, created the sound design for horror game ‘Scorn’, and released AV work through his side project AETHEK. His last album ‘Nomad’s Revenge’ was nominated for Best Album at the British DnB Awards, supported by a short film and vocal features from Blade Runner collaborators and Foreign Beggars’ Orifice Vulgatron.

‘ESEF’ is the final piece of the ‘Mirror’ puzzle. And it’s pure mayhem. The countdown to Billain’s most radical chapter is nearly over.

Billain’s ‘ESEF’ is out 15th August via Evolution Chamber. His ‘Mirror’ LP drops on 29th August 2025.

Billain has done extensive sound design work for major projects including the films Hunter Killer and Pacific Rim Uprising. He also employs his diverse skill set for HYPERBINARY, a sophisticated audiovisual project. A second alias of his dubbed AETHEK builds further on his proven production expertise with a striking style focused on intricate, complex sound design over musical arrangement. Flaunting an EP release titled 1991 VG on visionary imprint RENRAKU GLOBAL MEDIA and additionally handling all composition and sound design work for Ebb Software’s most anticipated game “Scorn”, AETHEK’s highly experimental yet cohesive approach to music has proven that he is in no way restrained by the boundaries of the norm. Endless self improvement and a tireless work ethic validates that BILLAIN is taking several key steps toward the future of experimental art. His Debut Album “Nomad’s Revenge” is nominated for the “Best album of the year” in British DnB Awards, featuring a short film released with the album with actors, animators that had worked on “Blade Runner”, and guests MC’s of highest caliber such as Orifice Vulgatron from Foreign Beggars. His work has been supported by Noisia, Amon Tobin, Chris Cunningham, Teebee, Glitchmob and MrBill to name a few. Billain’s next plans is releasing the cluster of 7 albums intertwined with story narrative that has been unlocked by the debut album.
