+ London headline show at St Pancras Church on 30th April
Taken from new EP ‘A Few More Hours At YYZ’ due 3rd April
“Rough and soulful rock and roll? That’s Billy Raffoul’s signature sound.” – Atwood Magazine
Singer/songwriter Billy Raffoul is poised to release a brand new track with the arrival of ‘Without Falling In Love’, a bold, effervescent offering peppered with melancholy charm. Lifted from his forthcoming EP ‘A Few More Hours At YYZ’ due this April, Billy will embark on a series of European dates this spring, including a headline show at St Pancras Old Church in London on 30th April.
Made with producers like Mike Crossey (Arctic Monkeys, The 1975, Barns Courtney), the new EP further redefines the limits of the classic singer/songwriter sensibility, bringing Raffoul’s enchanting sincerity and warm introspection to his most sonically ambitious body of work yet. “Without Falling In Love” follows the release last month of the harmony-laced piano ballad “It’s a Beautiful Life,” which was featured in the mid-season premiere of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy. Both songs will be featured on A Few More Hours at YYZ. Pre-order of “A Few More Hours at YYZ” HERE
He says: “‘Without Falling in Love’ is a song that has been in my voice notes for almost half a decade. Excited to finally have it out in the world. Sonically it’s one of the most “out-there” songs I’ve released.”
Growing up in the small farming town of Leamington, Ontario, Raffoul first started writing songs at age 10, thanks in no small part to the influence of his father—a musician who’s opened for everyone from Joe Cocker to Bon Jovi. After landing his first paying gig—playing to long-haul drivers at a local truck stop—Raffoul began playing at nearby bars and clubs at age 16, often driving into Detroit for shows. He eventually connected with a manager and moved down to Nashville to push forward with his music career. Soon after scoring a deal with Interscope Records, Raffoul released the critically hailed song “Driver” and followed that with his debut EP 1975 in June 2018 which featured the fan favorite “Acoustic.” Critical praise followed with NPR raving, “Billy Raffoul has stepped into the spotlight.” This past September Raffoul released Live In June EP which was recorded during his spring 2019 club tour opening for Parachute and captures Raffoul’s stripped-down performance aesthetic. Over the past few years, Raffoul has opened for heavyweight artists like, Kings of Leon, X Ambassadors, NEEDTOBREATHE and Kaleo, captivating crowds with his understated yet intensely passionate stage presence.
