“Do My Thing” is a deep and intoxicating cut that nods back to the nostalgia of classic 2010s-style UK deep house. The muted intro possesses a wavy feel that forms the foundation, as sporadic bleep fills, and filtered vocals are sprinkled in. Annalisa’s velvety vocal croons fuse soulful and sultry in optimal proportions to yield undeniable appeal. Robust bassline pulses, whiplashing synth flourishes, and frothy textures saunter among the garage-infused drums. The vocals drift in and out, giving the drops a catchy hook without distracting from the hip-swaying groove. “Do My Thing” is a late-night bop that’s equal parts classy, sexy, and magnetic.
Blookah shares the inspiration behind the collaboration, saying, “‘Do My Thing’ is inspired by, and for, those late nights at the club. A testament to being free and dancing like no one is watching. We hope it meets you well and propels you to the afters on high vibes… in the moment.”
Denver-based Blookah is a multi-instrumentalist and producer creating all manner of dank, heady dance music that refuses to adhere to rigid genre conventions. He recently put himself on the map with his collaborative 12-track album ‘Nexum’ alongside INZO. He is gearing up for a set at Haunted Palace as support for INZO, Supertask, and Saka.
