Sydney-based duo Bohm return to Melbourne imprint UGENIUS to close 2024 with their electrifying new EP, ‘Hear The Noise’, adding to their growing sound that fuses the best of melodic house and techno, indie dance, and afro house. Following their label debut ‘Digital Awakening’ in 2023 and their recent remix of Ark Nomads & MESH’s ‘You’, this latest two-tracker builds on material via the likes of Einmusika and Act7 — showcasing their ability to channel raw dancefloor energy while exploring emotional depth, and reaffirming their place as one of the city’s most intriguing up-and-coming acts.
STREAM ‘HEAR THE NOISE’ HERE
The title track, ‘Hear The Noise’, is a powerhouse anthem born from late-night studio sessions inspired by the duo’s regular marathon DJ sets. Featuring a chunky, driving bassline crafted to ‘shake the room’, the track ‘captures the primal connection between music and movement’. Layered with percussive hits and soaring synth stabs, the track is bold, unapologetic, and crafted to unite the dancefloor in a shared, euphoric energy.
On the flip, ‘Back To The Wall’ offers a vibrant contrast. Drawing on ‘themes of resilience and determination’, the track weaves hypnotic percussion, layered chords, and uplifting melodies to create a warm, immersive atmosphere. The intimate groove and dynamic builds evoke the feeling of transition—whether from night to day or from challenge to triumph—making it an inspiring moment-maker for any set.
