It’s the first new music fans have had from the UK artist since 2022, when he released the tracks ‘ATK’ and ‘Defender’, following his sixth studio album-proper, ‘Fragments, which landed the same year.

‘Expander’ combines solemn vocals, calm woodwind harmonies, organic percussion and a big synth hook. Already a firm fixture in Bonobo’s sets, attendees at Glastonbury, where he played the LEVELS stage, were among the first to hear it.

Since then, the track has become a staple at Bonobo’s own OUTLIER events, large-scale shows which are currently the fastest-selling events held at London’s 15,000 capacity Drumsheds venue. On 24th September, the brand will head to the US for a takeover of Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Ninja Tune label mates Barry Can’t Swim and Sofia Kourtesis join him on the line-up. Further into autumn, events have been announced at The Warehouse Project, Manchester, and DGTL @ ADE, Amsterdam.
