Brianna McGeehan releases latest single ‘Mother Maiden’

Brianna McGeehan, the Atlanta-based artist celebrated for her evocative storytelling and heritage-rooted artistry, will release her latest single, “Mother Maiden,” on November 22. This deeply introspective track channels McGeehan’s Irish roots, offering a healing anthem for young women navigating hardship. Her new single blends indie-pop and electro-folk, infusing traditional Irish themes into a modern soundscape that reflects her journey and resilience.

Following the success of her debut solo single “Home,” which garnered acclaim from outlets like Mystic Sons, Music Crowns, and FLEX, McGeehan turns inward with “Mother Maiden.” The song represents both an homage to her heritage and a testament to her evolution as an artist. McGeehan’s lyrical focus remains unwaveringly personal, tracing her path from a young mother facing adversity to an empowered figure sharing wisdom gained along the way.

“Mother Maiden” draws on McGeehan’s life experiences with compassion, delivering a message of perseverance for the next generation. In her words, “It’s a song that I’d wanted to write for a long time—a letter to my younger self and all young women facing the darkest parts of life.” The song’s narrative, grounded in McGeehan’s own struggles as a young single mother, speaks to the enduring spirit found in Irish storytelling and folklore. A nod to her ancestors’ resilience, McGeehan creates a timeless connection between her heritage and her present-day journey.

Produced by Colin Agnew at Sunwapta Studio in Georgia and co-produced by Brianna herself and her husband, Drew de Man, “Mother Maiden” weaves synths, piano, organic drums, and atmospheric guitars with McGeehan’s haunting vocal performance. McGeehan’s sound reflects the duality of her influences: the Celtic traditions she grew up with and the electronic music of her early days in Brooklyn, merging to form a genre-blending soundscape that feels both nostalgic and innovative.

Born into an Irish-American family, McGeehan grew up hearing stories of resilience from County Tyrone, where her great-great-grandparents once lived. Those stories inform not just her music but her life, as McGeehan continues to be a force of change in her community, bringing both a musician’s voice and an activist’s passion to everything she does.

“Mother Maiden” is set for release on November 22 and marks another exciting chapter in McGeehan’s solo career.
