Versatile Sydney producer Cabu offers another look at his forthcoming EP with shimmering new single ‘After 9’ featuring the vocal delights of Maribelle which was premiered on triple j’s Home & Hosed last night.

Outlining the pitfalls of digital relationships ‘After 9’ is an infectiously bright groove, combining dancehall tropical elements and post-modern house to signal the arrival of the warmer months. On the creation of the track Cabu says “It was accidental, I was looking for beats to put on a mixtape that I just wanted to release after holding on to them (mostly unfinished) for so long, I called it the “Basura” mixtape which is trash in Spanish/Filipino language.” The single follows on from his first release this year in the sultry ‘No Signs ft. Vanessa Eilsha’ which proved as a great introduction to his forthcoming sophomore EP.
Culminating in over 600,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, Cabu’s previous releases have struck a chord with BBC 1xtra, triple j, Majestic Casual, ThisSongIsSick, DJ Complexion’s Future Beats Radio, Soundistyle, 12 Tracks Tape, Soulection Radio, Pilerats, Maison Kitsune and more.
Alongside his originals Cabu’s talents are equally showcased through his globally touted remixes, most notably his rendition of Joe Hertz’s ‘Stay Lost’ which has amassed over 21 Million streams on Spotify alone.
New to the live circuit, Cabu embarked on his debut seven stop tour across Australia last year, both in support of Slumberjack and headlining his own shows in Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney.
After spending time writing for breakout artists, Cabu now has his sights set on sharing his own music to close out 2019 and if ‘After 9’ is anything to go by, we are very excited for what’s coming with Cabu.
