Carl Cox will debut his brand-new live show, Evolution, at Ultra Music Festival 2025.Cox was conspicuously absent from this year’s edition of Ultra Miami. Though he played a number of other live dates this year, he explained via social media that he had been “cooking up something extra special for my headlining set at Ultra Music Festival 2025″, which has now been revealed to be next year’s live show.
The all-new Evolution show will part of the first-ever Carl Cox Invites stage at the RESISTANCE MegaStructure. The takeover will also include performances from Adam Beyer, Richie Hawtin’s DEX EFX X0X, Stephan Bodzin (Live), Joris Voorn (Live), Dubfire’s EVOLV, Marc Romboy (Live) and Carl Cox b2b Christopher Coe (Live).
Speaking on the new live show, Cox commented: “For the first time ever, I’ll be performing my new show ‘Evolution,’ which is a full live set, at Ultra Music in Miami this March! This means I’ll be playing my music live on stage, using a combination of hardware and software to create and manipulate sounds in real-time. Unlike a DJ set with pre-recorded tracks, or my hybrid set that combines elements of live performance and DJing, I’ll be crafting and evolving the music live, adding an extra layer of spontaneity and energy to the performance.
“This is something I’ve been planning for a long time, and I couldn’t be more excited to bring it to life. I promised you all something special in honor of their 25th anniversary, and this is it!”
News of Cox’s new show arrives shortly after the announcement of a special documentary series to celebrate Ultra Miami’s 25th anniversary.
