Caspa and MYTHM Deal Serious Damage With Dark, Grimy Deep Dubstep Collab “Real Talk” for Bassrush Records

Bridging two generational talents of bass music, Caspa and MYTHM join forces on “Real Talk,” a deep, uncompromising dubstep cut arriving February 28 on Bassrush Records. True to its name, “Real Talk” is pure, no-frills dubstep built on a backbone of razor-sharp drum programming, pulsating sub-bass, and cavernous negative space. Caspa’s signature low-end control provides the track’s foundation, while MYTHM injects his forward-thinking sound design, layering in warped textures and shadowy melodic elements. The result is a stripped-down yet dynamic composition that pulls listeners into its gravitational force, balancing raw intensity with hypnotic groove.

Painting a picture of how the collab came together and relaying his appreciation for the Canadian innovator, Caspa explains: “As you know, I’ve been supporting MYTHM for quite some time, and last year we talked about doing a collab. I’m thrilled to say the track came together very naturally and was completed in just one session! MYTHM has a strong passion for grime and UK styles, and I believe this collaboration perfectly blends both of our sounds. The end result captures a dark, grimey vibe with rich low-end tones that truly sound like they could belong in the heart of London. CASPA x MYTHM: LET’S BE ‘AVIN YA!”

MYTHM big ups the pioneer—and his like-minded peer—by sharing his excitement around the milestone achievement: “Linking up and collaborating with one of the OGs of dubstep has been one of the highlights of my career. Huge thanks to Caspa and his team for their support over the years; truly grateful!”

A key architect of dubstep’s early evolution, Caspa has continued to push the genre forward, with recent Bassrush releases “Never Serious” and “No Laughing Matter,” earning support from UKF, This Song Is Sick, EDM.com, and more. MYTHM, on the other hand, has built a name for himself in the darker corners of bass music. In addition to searing brains via his two-tracker ‘Frontin’ / Awake’ alongside Chef Boyarbeatz last year, the heavyweight producer has garnered radio support from Zeds Dead, Ternion Sound, and Chef Boyarbeatz. His distinct, bass-driven sound has resonated at major events like Red Rocks, making him a standout force in the new wave of dubstep.

With “Real Talk,” Caspa and MYTHM strike a seamless balance between foundational and future-facing dubstep, offering a track that feels both essential and exploratory. As anticipation builds for Caspa’s upcoming EP, this latest single underscores the enduring depth of dubstep while reaffirming its place in the ever-evolving bass landscape.
