For their first event of the season, they have none other than Berghain & Panorama Bar’s finest resident, Ryan Elliott.
Ryan Elliott has spent the past two decades of his esteemed career effortlessly bridging the gap between different artistic expectations. Growing up as a DJ in Detroit, but coming into his own in Berlin, his sets expand on each city’s styles. A resident at Berghain and Panorama Bar, he refuses to be aligned with just techno or house, instead highlighting their optimal overlaps. And as a producer, remixer, and founder of his own label, Faith Beat, Elliott releases music that is playable but unpredictable, perfectly calibrated for dancefloor impact and enduring enjoyment. No matter what form his musical expression takes, with Elliott listeners always seem to get the best of both worlds.
As a DJ, Elliott delivers sets that slice energetically across the house and techno divide, a revelatory approach that’s infused with a deep respect for his selections. This ethos also manifests in the monthly charts Elliott has published since 2003, insisting on giving a proper platform to whatever he plays. As with all of his efforts, Elliott doesn’t pit one place or style against each other, continuing to pursue a sleek and transportive fusion.
Catch Recordings mainstay Ste Roberts will also be there on the night to join label head, Nadsat.
Having started out, as most good DJ/Producers should, as a record store ‘guy’ at Leeds’ Tribe Records, Roberts has an uncanny ability to zero in on records that matter and it’s that that perhaps marks him out as a DJ’s DJ (just ask any of his colleagues and this tag becomes repetitive). Understated in his delivery, allowing records to breathe, the Yorkshireman graces the turntables at global clubbing institutions in an enviable gig-diary without unnecessary fuss or fanfare, instead of relying on quality selections put together properly.
Nadsat is the owner of Catch Recordings, a DJ and music producer. His widespread understanding of techno and musical vision enables him to showcase his personal integration of music throughout both his music and record label.
Musical intelligence reign through Nadsat’s sets, showcasing the rough industrial side of techno, married with the emotive, softer side to create emotion and anticipation. Whipping the crowd to a point of euphoria and then taking them back down to the ground, making his way through genres and years to find the perfect track, to deliver the perfect moment.
See you on the dancefloor.
