Earlier this fall, electronic music auteur deadmau5 (Joel Zimmerman) released “Hyperlandia,” a low-lit, slow-burning single featuring pop experimenters Foster the People, followed by the Hyperlandia EP—a five-track collection of different iterations of the song. In December, deadmau5 and Portugal. The Man came together for a special release of a new collaboration single titled “this is fine.” via homestead label mau5trap, offered exclusively for sale as a single NFT.
Both coasts will have the opportunity to ring in the New Year with deadmau5, with performances on New Year’s Eve at Countdown Orlando Invasion and New Year’s Day at Countdown NYE in San Bernardino.

Since 2011, electronic music producer, DJ and tastemaker DESTRUCTO (Gary Richards) has dominated the dance floor on his own terms. For his recent “Jolene” remix, DESTRUCTO leaned into an emotional, sublime and melodic style of deep house bolstering Dolly Parton’s unforgettable vocal. Every verse is retained in the remix, offering the listener the opportunity to indulge in Parton’s story telling of a woman trying to keep her man from a younger love interest through song. An official video for the remix is out now. DESTRUCTO will make an appearance at Decadence AZ on December 30.

For nearly three decades, The Crystal Method has remained one of the most influential and well-respected acts in electronic music. Earlier this month, The Crystal Method (who is Scott Kirkland) released his latest single “Act Right” featuring Billy Dean Thomas and VAAAL, building upon the sound that pioneered the big beat genre and popularizied electronic music with mainstream audiences. “Act Right” follows TCM’s November single “House Broken” featuring Naz Tokio, which was released with an accompanying music video. Both singles will appear on The Crystal Method’s seventh studio album The Trip Out set for release February 2022. On December 31, TCM brings “The Trip Out Tour” to Fox Theatre Boulder for a special NYE show.

Over the last few months, electronic music producer Party Favor (Dylan Ragland) has been entertaining listeners with new music built around themes of mental health and personal awareness with songs like “Whenever You’re Around” and its accompanying music video, “Losing My Mind” featuring Elohim and “Save Me.” Earlier this month, Party Favor teamed up with MASN, a burgeoning artist known for his dreamy melting pot of lo-fi beatcraft, indie experimentation, hip-hop fluidity, and lush pop for his latest single “Anxious.” Party Favor will appear for both days of Countdown NYE this year, performing as himself on New Year’s Eve and with Nitti Gritti as Sidepiece on New Year’s Day.
