Greco-Roman co-founder Joe Goddard is, of course, best known as a founding member of the legendary Hot Chip and The 2 Bears but is also a respected DJ, producer, songwriter and remixer in his own right. He has previously remixed the likes of Kraftwerk, New Order, Disclosure and many more.
Fatnotronic is Brazil’s leading disco edit don and has a vast knowledge of obscure Brazilian boogie, acid house, world music and Balearic whose work on the likes of Razor-n-Tape, Yuksek’s Partyfine, Toy Tonics, and more has been praised by 2Manydjs, Fatboy Slim, Solomun and Diplo. When the opportunity came up for Joe to work on this remix, he sprung at it, saying “Phillipi is an old friend with a deep voice. It was a pleasure working on a remix for him“.
His reworking of it is superb and takes the track into slinky electro-house territory. The catchy lyrics work perfectly to bring some extra sparks to the tune and have already made it a solid favourite in his DJ sets. Firing sci-fi details and crunchy hits add texture and colour as the anthemic vocals bounce along and ensure the dance floor will blow up.
This is a typically unique new single with which to kick off 2024 for the always innovative Circa ’99 label.
