Dirtybird label boss Claude VonStroke has released the latest from his hip-hop inspired alter ego Barclay Crenshaw. The moniker is, of course, the producer’s actual name, and is just the latest in his seemingly endless array of eclectic endeavors. Crenshaw’s latest release is a dancehall infused track with an esoteric video, aptly titled “The Real X Files.”
The Markus Hofko-directed video was filmed in North Africa and features kaleidoscopic shots of the harsh desert with extraterrestrial black shapes. Vocalist Lady Chann features prominently in the visuals, bringing an ethereal presence to the dancehall influenced grime track. The track precedes Crenshaw’s self titled debut which will arrive January 27 with a host of collaborators including Mr. Carmack, Cool Kids, and more.
