Featuring as an artist amongst the Netherland’s vibrant and flourishing house landscape, with releases on Whippin, What NxT, and Deeperfect, Amsterdam-based DJ/producer Close to Custom is picking up where he left off in 2022 as he readies a wealth of material set for release across the summer. Opening with arguably the biggest release of the lot, late April brings a label debut on wAFF’s flourishing imprint NATURE, becoming the second guest artist on the label with his ‘Like Thiszz’ EP – with the imprint head honcho also stepping up on remix duties.

Title track ‘Like Thiszz’ opens the package with a shower of energy as bouncy basslines and resonant perc shots work amongst snaking synths, while wAFF’s remix heads towards more paired back territories with a focus on driving drums and a snaking groove. Next, Whisperz brings skippy drums and spiralling lead melodies to the party, while ‘Paralell’ showcases a deeper side of things with light chords working above acid-flecked low-ends. To close, the EP is wrapped up with the bubbly sounds of final original ‘Meet Me At The Terrace’, shaping up an impressive first outing on the label in style.
