Moldova-born but Spain-based pair Perky Wires have been on a swift rise in recent years. Their new mix of house, minimal and tech has taken them to the Top 10 of the Beatport charts and seen them release on labels like TBX as well as this one where they dropped the huge Hippler EP. They repeat the magic again with this latest offering.
The title track kicks off with six supercharged minutes of busy percussive house. Underpinning the rattling snares and toms, mystic leads and whispered vocals is a killer bassline that never quits. ‘Tribute of Groove’ is a more cosmic exploration with wispy pads and liquid chords melting around the tight tech beats. They’re kinetic and infectious and make for perfect dance floor bait. Last of all is ‘Jade’, an impossibly silky and spaced-out tech funk gem with bumping drums and mad FX that take you into a psychedelic realm.
