Daidu releases new EP ‘Arpenin’ via United Identities

Amsterdam-based Afghan-Dutch artist Daidu has been DJing, producing, and crafting tasteful edits for more than a decade. He is always experimenting with genre boundaries and has a meticulous approach to sound design that fuses the synthetic and the organic in innovative ways. After contributing to AliA & DTM Funk’s Black Gravity Rhythms compilation on San-Kofa Rhythm Records, he continues to make waves in the studio with this latest offering.

Opener ‘Arpenin’ is a chapter-spanning, in-your-face 909 roller driven by a bouncy bassline and mutating arpeggios, building to several atmospheric synth liftoffs. It’s infused with future soul while harking back to early Detroit tech and oozes elegant power and sophistication. The shape-shifting ‘Circular Discontinuity’ blends Daidu’s jazzy keys and percussive jams with a rubbery, off-grid techno rhythm. Gradually evolving into a rich electronic sound and propelled by synths that reach an intense summit, it’s lush techno with a rare musicality and freeform sense of soul.

Daidu’s ‘Arpenin’ comes on United Identities on August 29th 2025.
