From dark, gritty techno to experimental ambience and beyond, Pauli’s intuitive sets have taken him around the world, from Mutek Montreal to Day Zero. Recent albums have seen the elusive musician lean into the abstract with the modular nine-track LP ‘MOD’ and its following remixes. Now, August’s ‘Jellyfish On Acid’ on Lazarus’ Rebellion imprint marks the Bavarian artist’s first original material of 2024 following a string of remixes that dominated the start of the year.
“I made these tunes exactly one year ago in my studio truck in the countryside after we confirmed my appearance at Day Zero. Every time I walk outside of the truck I am in the midst of nature and a forest. Somehow I had the jungle of Yucatan on my mind when these tracks came to life, and I thought they’d fit quite nicely there…from jungle to jungle.” – Acid Pauli.
Drawing inspiration from the natural world, ‘Jellyfish On Acid’ is an atmospheric, tingling and off-kilter builder, while ‘Jellyfish Jungle (Selva Mix)’ dives into weirder, stranger sounds with even more intensity, bringing elevating energy to the dancefloor.
