Danny Rhys collab with Alex Preston for ‘What’s Up Man’

A man with short hair and a beard wearing a black t-shirt with the word 'amour' printed in pink, standing against a textured brick wall.

Two Toolroom Trax regulars finally join forces, and the result is exactly what you’d expect. Alex Preston and Danny Rhys team up to bring a little old-school flavour back with plenty of attitude.

Sydney’s Alex Preston has been a key part of the Toolroom family for years, building a solid reputation for classy, groove-led house and his seriously impressive ability to play guitar live while DJing and producing. With multi-million streaming records including ‘Love You Better’ and ‘Hunching’, he’s carved out a sound that’s unmistakably his own. Alongside him is Toolroom Trax A&R Danny Rhys, who has been helping shape the label’s sound and roster. The pair go way back, from Danny first signing Alex’s music to Toolroom back in 2020, to working together on the Poolside project and beyond. This collaboration feels long overdue, as clearly they have a connection.
