Following the huge ‘The New Ruler’ EP earlier this year, Glaswegian DJ/producer Darren After returns to Lee Foss’ Repopulate Mars with another set of strong modern House cuts. Making moves in recent years with his fresh and club-ready sounds on this label as well as on Low Ceiling and Vibrancy, his sounds always stand out thanks to their hooky melodies and impeccably high production values.
He has cooked up another pair of gems here, starting with the sizzling ‘LaFiesta’, a full flavour anthem with carnival atmospheres and rock-solid kicks. The fiery samples, vocals and tough synth stabs all make it a perfect floor filler. The equally impactful ‘Sahara’ brings enchanting melodies and vocal calls over muscular drum funk as a taught bassline helps make the track into another one that is destined to blow up any party.
