After more than a year of quiet road-testing and refinement, the collaborators formalize their new joint project with five tracks bursting with electroclash energy.
Men Machine is David Guetta and Marten Hørger like you’ve never heard them before — and that’s by design.
Out now via SPINNIN’ RECORDS, their eponymous first release cements their creative partnership across five tracks that fulfill the fun, music-centered vision behind a project that’s been percolating for more than a year. Sonically, the Men Machine EP straddles past, present, and future, spinning influence from the electroclash movement of the ‘90s into a modern mosaic of electro, new wave, synth-pop, and techno with mainstage scale and early traction.
If you tried Shazamming a supercharged track from one of Guetta’s sets during his F*** ME I’M FAMOUS or Galactic Circus residencies in Ibiza last summer, only to get no result, chances are it was “Engage” or “The Past, The Present, The Future.” Since starting Men Machine, the collaborators have quietly road-tested and refined their sound, but reactions to these subtle debuts have been anything but. The largest, most emphatic one yet unfolded in Indio just last month, when Hørger joined Guetta’s set at the Quasar Stage for Men Machine’s world premiere, skyrocketing the fanfare that now comes full circle with the EP.
The Men Machine EP marks Guetta and Hørger’s second collaboration following the rousing single that started it all in 2023, “The Freaks.” A compelling new undertaking that adds dimension to both producers’ catalogs, Men Machine marries Guetta’s penchant for merging sounds and spaces, mainstage and underground, with Hørger’s precise club instinct, yielding an EP that’ll be heard everywhere.
