With 50 million global streams, a UK Top 20 single, #17 on Global Shazam and hitting the Spotify Top 20 across 7 markets, ‘Baby Don’t Hurt Me’ is fast becoming a megahit worldwide
David Guetta has unveiled the official music video and first remix package for his latest smash hit single ‘Baby Don’t Hurt Me’, featuring fellow global superstars Anne-Marie and Coi Leray.
Taking place in a slick nightclub setting, the music video sees Guetta, Anne-Marie and Coi Leray in their element on the dancefloor – while at the same, two lovers enter a boxing ring, symbolising ‘Baby Don’t Hurt Me’’s lyrics about a stormy and passionate relationship. The video is directed by award-winning filmmaker Hannah Lux Davis, a long-time collaborator of Guetta who also directed the music videos for ‘Hey Mama’, ‘Say My Name’, ‘Let’s Love’ and many more.
On the remixes side, topping the bill is the rave-ready rework from viral sensation and rising producer Hypaton (alongside Giuseppe Ottavian), who has also recently released an electrifying Future Rave remix of La Bouche’s ‘90s classic ‘Be My Lover’ in collaboration with Guetta himself. Also included in the Remixes EP are heavy-hitting versions from Borai & Denham, the producer duo who currently sit at #72 in the UK Charts with their single ‘Make Me’, and DJs from Mars, who add their own special sauce to ‘Baby Don’t Hurt Me’’s feelgood energy.
The original single, a euphoric gem which combines Guetta’s mastermind production with a sample from Haddaway’s 90s hit ‘What Is Love’, is fast climbing up the charts worldwide, currently at #13 in the UK Chart with 50 million global streams to date, rising to #17 on Global Shazam, #5 on UK iTunes, hitting the Spotify Top 20 across 7 markets and gaining over 15K IG creations. On radio, the track has reached playlists on Capital, Kiss (+Kiss Dance), Hits Radio and been chosen as Radio 1’s Track Of The Week.
‘Baby Don’t Hurt Me’ features vocals from British pop icon Anne-Marie, who continues to take the world by storm with 7.5 billion global streams to date, seven Top 10 singles and multiple double- and triple-platinum selling records, and Coi Leray, the LA-based rapper known for her raw rhymes, traffic-stopping vocals and inimitable energy. Leray is best known for her recent smash single ‘Players’, which has 200 million streams, reached #1 at Rhythmic radio in the US, and received a remix by David Guetta, which the two performed together in his Ultra Miami set last month.
Fast approaching 40 billion global streams in addition to this year’s ‘Producer of the Year’ win at the BRITs and DJ Mag’s #1 DJ for the third year running, David Guetta has skyrocketed to #9 most streamed artist on Spotify globally, selling over 50 million records worldwide. In his career he has reached top position across I-Tunes charts over 113 countries and achieving over 24 million Spotify followers worldwide. His previous single ‘I’m Good (Blue)’ hit #1 on the UK Singles chart, #2 on Global Spotify, #1 on Spotify UK, #1 on Apple UK, #1 on Amazon Music UK, #2 on UK Shazam, #3 on Global Shazam, as well as #1 in 15 territories including Australia, Denmark, Switzerland, Norway and Finland.
