DiLisio is the solo project of Mark Jeffries, a Pittsburgh-based singer/songwriter with an explosive voice and a knack for writing catchy, rock ‘n roll love songs. His most recent singles ‘Unicorn’, ‘God Almighty Gonna Cut Me Down’, and ‘Honey Butter’ are no exception, and they all lead to the release of his 3rd LP, ‘Slither’, on May 19th, 2023.
DiLisio’s goal with ‘Slither’ as a whole was paying homage to his late 70s disco-hero George McCrae, while staying true to his garage and alt-blues roots. Effortlessly blending indie-rock and neo-soul on this 10-track offering, polished with a sleek production from Matt Very, DiLisio flaunts his distinct signature sound.
Fresh cut ‘Honey Butter’ is the final single release from the upcoming album and is a sweet taste of the genre-blending sound and heartfelt lyricism that runs throughout. Drawing inspiration from country-rock outfit Futurebirds’ joyful storytelling, ‘Honey Butter’ has an Americana flavor that’s hard to resist.
Sharing more about the meaning behind the new single, DiLisio says, “‘It’s a love song about not wishing you were anywhere else in the world but home. It’s about my wife Beth and how she makes specialty “honey butter” for breakfast on weekend mornings.”
DiLisio has already started to create buzz in the music industry, being featured as artist of the week by WYEP and receiving a glowing review from acclaimed rock publication New Noise.
