Musical tour-de-force DRIIA has unveiled her new single ‘Love Me, Leave Me Alone’, out today on Lift Me Up Records.
Written, recorded and produced by DRIIA in her bedroom studio, ‘Love Me, Leave Me Alone’ is underpinned by a bumpin’ garage beat and her own smooth vocals. The track is a playful club jam inspired by her desire for independence after a painful breakup.
“I made this track in response to someone breaking up with me after I was vulnerable with them,” DRIIA explains. “It resembles my journey from feeling reliant upon external validation (‘love me’) to gaining independence and realising that nurturing and developing self-love is way more important (‘leave me alone’).”
Despite being classically trained, DRIIA embarked on a self-navigated journey into electronic music production at just 14. Since then, she has been evolving into the ‘one-woman band’ she is today – responsible for the writing, recording, performance and production on all of her works. During the creative process, DRIIA channels a plethora of influences, from Frederic Chopin to FKA Twigs to The Beach Boys, culminating in her distinctive and unique sound.
Following on from Wh0 and Zirretta’s summer banger ‘Show Me Your Love’, Henry Daniel’s tech bomb ‘Shake That’ and Marvel Riot and Celina Sharma’s sultry ‘Say You Want It’, which was subsequently remixed by Sub-X, it is the latest in a series of tracks that Lift Me Up plans to release. With its founding mission to put amazing dance music in front of people – from crossover dance records to club focused tracks – the label will be a positive place for like-minded individuals to come together and collaborate.
A fast-rising, multi-talented artist, ‘Love Me, Leave Me Alone’ is the latest scintillating release from DRIIA.
