The second year of El Tony Producer Academy on Ibiza has been an even greater success for the Swiss natural energy drink brand. Supported by Beatport, the El Tony Producer Academy gave eight upcoming electronic music producers a lifetime’s chance to learn from international DJ/producers, coaches SKALA and Kid Simius, spending a week creating music together in iconic Ibiza 1st-7th October, all absolutely free.
Eight winners were selected from submissions across Europe to join the Academy. The project is part of El Tony Mate’s Culture Collective, which supports emerging talent and the electronic music scene. El Tony Mate is a freshly brewed mate drink made with natural ingredients, bringing natural energy whenever you need it – for daily life, studio sessions, late nights, early mornings, on some of Europe’s best dancefloors…
Ellen Fölmli, Culture Specialist at El Tony Mate says: ‘with the Producer Academy, we want to create opportunities for producers to learn, connect and grow beyond their usual home studio setup. Bringing them together with experienced coaches and other talents creates a completely different energy. Seeing how creative everyone became throughout the week and how inspired they left showed us exactly why we want to create spaces like this.’
The eight producers arrived as strangers and left as a creative community. They learned from each other, shared ideas and heard their own tracks at Metrica Studio. They also spent a night at Hï Ibiza and experienced the island’s electronic music scene first-hand, with El Tony Mate keeping the energy going during late-night studio sessions.
They emerged from the week’s Academy with new music, new contacts & friends, ongoing support and insights into the Ibiza scene. Discover El Tony Culture, from the Academies supporting emerging talent, to Selected Sessions bringing artists and communities together in unexpected places.
