“Russian electronic music producer and Dj Ka Fu combining creativity and culture at the beautiful Eco-Art Park Nikola-Lenivets”

Be-At TV

Electronic producer Ka Fu has added to his creative portfolio once again, this time in the form of a live video, set in the extraordinary art park of Nikola-Lenivets in Russia. The dynamic footage recorded on the day premiered with Be-At TV to their 1 million+ followers. Presenting itself with beautiful natural scenery, the park is a design mecca of installation art and architecture – more than 30 works of contemporary art are on display as part of a permanent exhibition. The video shows Ka Fu set up on a wooden walkway in the wilderness, suspended over a lake. Surrounded by a lush natural landscape, his electronic music beautifully contrasts the environment, in a perfect blend of the organic and digital.

So far, 2020 has seen Ka Fu  release a moving remix of Llama’s Dream’s track ‘Rain Catcher’ that was supported by popular Youtube Channel Ambient. In 2019, Ka Fu released his debut album Encoding: Master (4 October, 2019) via Hidden Vibes. The album boasts mixing credits by Klas-Henrik Lindblad (Anja Schneider, Rodriguez Jr., The Presets) from Berlin BlackHead Studios and has already seen him receive support from Data Transmission, XS Noize, Child Of House, La Belle Musique, the_accidental_poet and Progressive Dreamers amongst others.

Raised in the previously closed Russian military city of Severodvinsk, Ka Fu is a self-confessed global nomad. Addicted to perpetual change, his one constant is music – a place of retreat where he is able to use the endless possibilities of sound to communicate his message to the universe.

Always on the move, his music reflects the desire to avoid stagnation at all costs. Deeply inspired by the moody, introspective sound of Depeche Mode, Ka Fu’s ability to convey a message without words draws parallels to the rich ambient atmospheres of Orbital, Autechre, Brian Eno, and Boards of Canada, as well as the textured soundscapes of Com Truise, Plaid, and Øfdream.

He gives some insight into the live video experience:

I had never been to the park before but had heard that it had been inhabited by our pagan ancestors, dating back to the fifth century. Locals tell stories of ancient rituals being held there during the solstice, and the place still holds ancient energy. For me the experience was a journey to my roots, to connect what I feel resonating from nature (loneliness and power) with the endless possibility of creativity. I reflected that in the music I chose for the set, different from anything I’ve played before with some hidden details.

I played at  5 am, it was a bit cold, dark and foggy, but a beautifully unique atmosphere. I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing acoustics of the place. The locals in the village a few kilometres away could hear the music.
Overall it was a perfect experience. Alone with nature. Alone with the music.”
