Today, Italian talent Lyke released the first single of his forthcoming EP on Armada Electronic Elements. His third release on the label after 2020’s ‘Arose’ and 2021’s three-track EP ‘Stay With Me’, ‘Far Away’ transports listeners to distant places with a dreamy vocal and wave-like synths, unlocking a sense of wanderlust in all who listen.
“I wanted to create something that could serve as an escape from the rush of everyday life”, Lyke explains. “The violins, cellos and voice transport listeners to places that are all unlike the one we call home, and I think that’s where the song’s true power lies. Sometimes, a different atmosphere, foreign scenery or change of pace is all one needs to get inspired, and I hope this song has the same effect on those who listen to it.”
Born in Italy at the turn of the millennium, singer and producer Luca Piantanida (Lyke) has been gaining plaudits across the music scene for the sheer authenticity of his music. Characterized by his distinctive voice and synths that bear tinges of techno and other electronic influences, his trademark sound first landed in the electronic music space through the 2018 release of ‘Nothing Around Us’, the international hit from Mathame he created the cyber vocal for. One of the youngest producers to have ever collaborated with labels such as Afterlife Recordings and Drumcode Records, Lyke constantly pushes himself and his internationally acclaimed sound to the limit, with ‘Far Away’ as the latest in a growing list of sterling examples.
