ERASR returns to Repopulate Mars with ‘You Know My Name’

A man with a beard and glasses is sitting in a colorful room, wearing a chain necklace and a blue jacket, smiling and gesturing with his hands.

ERASR returns to Repopulate Mars with ‘You Know My Name’, his first solo release for the label, following his ‘Party Monster’ collaboration with label head honcho Lee Foss in June. The Los Angeles-based DJ and producer first cut his teeth playing in various bands before developing his sound as ERASR, drawing on his background in live music and a deep-rooted connection to rave culture. After recently making his debut at Coachella, he continues to build momentum with a two-track release that reflects his musical upbringing and his increasingly hardware-driven approach to production.

“‘You Know My Name’ taps into the bravado and vibe of hip hop but with the instrumentation of a house record. This song took a lot of versions, and whenever I have more hip-hop-oriented records, I have one friend I send them to; if it doesn’t pass his test (meaning it bumps in his old Mercedes-Benz), I know it’s not right. Even though I love house music and rave culture, I grew up in the Bay Area in the middle of the hyphy movement, so I sometimes try to sneak some elements in from when I was younger. Also, at 134 BPM, this is the fastest record I’ve ever released, but it just flowed better at this pace.

‘Back Like 93’ is experimenting with a sound I’m calling minimal rave. It incorporates elements of traditional rave culture and techno, but it’s a little more groovy and stripped back. I’ve been buying hardware and experimenting a lot with the TB-303, so I came up with the vocals and main synth line pretty fast. Credit to Lee Foss for picking this one, because it wasn’t completely finished, and it forced me to flesh out some of the elements.” – ERASR

ERASR’s ‘You Know My Name’ drops via Repopulate Mars on 9th October 2026.
