What’s the message behind Peace Love and Unity in one sentence?
Peace, Love and Unity is the intent. It’s what we’re striving for. If we keep these principles in mind they guide our actions and bring more harmony into our lives. It’s not just a slogan. It’s a way of moving through the world with purpose.
How would you describe the sound of the Mind EP in three words?
Energy. Depth. Flow.
It’s a sonic journey from the initial spark of intent through darker shadowy spaces of introspection into a kind of internal chaos before finding balance in tribal rhythm and ancestral echoes. It’s cerebral but it also moves spiritually and physically.
What’s one thing you want people to feel when they hear this track?
Connection.
I want people to go on a journey with it and feel the different phases of the music like chapters of a story or cycles of the self. It’s about knowing deep down that even when things are turbulent, balance returns. We all want to believe that everything is going to be alright and that’s the feeling I want to leave you with.
How did the collaboration with Megatron MC come together?
I’ve known Megatron from the Ruffneck Ting days and always rated his flow, his clarity, his presence on a mic. We used to run with both Megatron and Jakes and that was a powerful combination. So I thought let’s revisit that energy but do something deeper and more rooted.
Megatron has roots in the original Junglist sound and I had this vision of going back to a more raw stripped-back Jungle before it got too cluttered and overly processed. I wanted to take it back to the source where every bar mattered and the space between the sounds carried weight.
Why release on the Spring Equinox and Earth Day what’s the significance?
Each Equinox marks a shift a realignment. Nature’s own reset button. The Earth moves through seasons just like we do and that rhythm is something I’ve become more attuned to.
Time’s flying we’re all feeling it so marking these turning points keeps us grounded gives us a moment to reflect and recalibrate. Earth Day and the Equinox are perfect anchor points to release music with intention.
How do you define Roots Jungle?
It’s in the name but there’s depth behind it. It’s Jungle with a stripped-back elemental foundation rhythm bass and space. But it also nods to the roots of sound system culture Ska Dub Ragga the Jamaican influence that shaped the scene.
It’s about connection vibe inclusion. You don’t need to know the BPM or the subgenre to feel it. It’s in your bones.
What sets this track apart from your past work?
There’s more clarity in the message.
I’ve always had a conscious vibe making tracks, sampling Malcolm X, Bobby Seale etc weaving deeper themes into the music but now I’m being more direct. These soundwaves stir something emotional. They travel invisibly through the air yet connect directly with us. They trigger memory spark emotion move the body or open the mind to reflection. Music and dance are universal languages and there’s a mystical quality to how they touch us. I feel blessed that my heart and emotion come through the music and can resonate with others. It’s a wonder something beyond explanation.
What does unity mean to you in 2025?
In a time where so many forces are trying to divide us unity feels more important than ever. But the thing is when you strip away all the imposed identities where you’re from your religion your class you find that people do get on on a human level.
Unity to me means remembering that we’re human beings first. It’s about bridging those false divides and coming back to what we share.
Vinyl digital or both?
Both.
Digital gets the reach but vinyl holds the ritual. I’ll be cutting some exclusive dubplate vinyl stuff no one else has. There’s a certain energy to dropping a record to feeling the weight of it hearing the crackle. It’s a whole other layer of connection.
What’s next after Mind in the Mind Body and Soul trilogy?
Next up is the Body EP and like Mind it’s got a story and a narrative running through it. This one’s rooted in rhythm and instinct, heavier drums wood textures tribal percussion something more physical and grounded.
Once all three parts are out Mind Body Soul and the remixes land the full picture will come into focus. This is more than a collection of tracks. It’s a journey I want people to travel with me. I’m aiming to make an album that resonates long-term timeless music that stays with you.
