Having recently surpassed 2 million streams globally amid support from Pigeons & Planes, Complex, MTV, dynmk, Hunger Magazine, Notion Magazine, EARMILK, Indie Shuffle, DJBooth and Link Up TV, to name a few, fast-rising independent UK artist Fabian Secon has revealed new single “Fucked Up On You”.
The self-written/produced track continues the singer’s brand of laid-back, hazy alternative R&B. Fabian says, “This is a special vibe. You can’t really label this sound. It’s very dark, beautiful and progressive and definitely one of the best beats I’ve made yet.”
The single follows previous releases “Blood Kisses” and “Haze” (alongside fellow UK stars Young T & Bugsey), which received well over 500,000 combined Spotify streams, and the recently released “Nowhere”—already approaching 100,000 SoundCloud streams after only a few weeks.
“Fucked Up On You” aims to continue the momentum Fabian has gained over the past year with a string of successful and critically acclaimed releases that have helped establish a growing fan base for the unsigned artist based primarily on word of mouth. Previous releases include “Defeated” and “Teenage Love”, as well as collaborations with Kai-A (Five 45 A.M), House of Pharaohs(“Pull Up”), Geovarn (“Tell Me”) and 5ive Beatz (Until We Meet Again EP), all helping Fabian to surpass well over half a million streams on SoundCloud. There are more collaborations in the vault too with the likes of Nyge, AJ Tracey, Noah Carter and Tayá, further solidifying Fabian’s place at the forefront of the UK’s revitalised urban music scene.
Fabian’s rise has been swift and impressive, given it was only in 2016 when he dropped his debut EP, Don’t Disturb, which received a great reception and paved the way for support from a wealth of radio stations and industry tastemakers, such as Jamz Supernova and DJ Target at BBC Radio 1Xtra, where EP single “Sensei” was given BBC Introducing Single Of The Week honours by MistaJam. The accompanying video went on to accumulate 150,000 streams on Fabian’s VEVO channel—which has attracted large audiences for all of his visuals released so far. Fabian has also had support from Capital FM and Capital XTRA with the Splurgeboys-produced “Gold Plated”.
With a fan base clearly on board and buzz growing daily, Fabian has no plans of slowing down anytime soon and instead aims to deliver plenty of new music and visuals in 2018. Watch this space…
