Today, Fatboy Slim releases a new remix of the iconic noughties track ‘Star 69’ with duo Shermanology, to mark 20 years since its original release with a fresh new sound. Out now via Skint.
Bringing in a dynamic blend of tech house, the Dutch electronic Brother and sister duo, Andy and Dorothy Sherman, collectively known as Shermanology, skillfully intertwine the timeless lyrics of ‘Star 69’ with a beat consisting of hipnotic squelchy baselines, relentless floor to floor beats and perfectly swung percussion over a repeating verse and a vocal hook, ‘What the F**’k?’ . The track is a catchy club banger that will bring its infectious energy to the dancefloor, leaving listeners wanting nothing but more.
The original ‘Star 69’ is from Fatboy Slim’s third album Halfway Between the Gutter. The track has been sampled by some of the biggest artists in the industry including Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj as well as various DJs and it will remain as one of the most iconic tracks produced by Fatboy Slim to date.
As well as a new remix, Fatboy Slim returns to Butlins for his stella weekender ‘All Back To Minehead’ across the 10th – 13th November.
