Big Plans is the latest single release from feminist alt.rock band Femegades. Following on from the successful release of recent single ‘Daddy Says’, the track is the final song to be taken from the band’s sophomore EP, Not All Men.
The London-based four-piece continue to showcase their diversity, both lyrically and sonically, as they experiment with a lo-fi, punk-infused spirit reminiscent of artist such X-Ray Spex and The Slits.
The track comes roaring out of the traps with urgent, soaring guitar notes, a thunderous drum beat accented by a propellant bass line, all brought together expertly by Em’s soulful, passionate vocal delivery.
Femegades tense, uncompromising sound is showcased throughout the EP – from the hard hitting ballad of the aforementioned ‘Daddy Says’, to the fiery, thought provoking lyricism of ‘Be Alone’ – gaining support from the likes of Clash Magazine, Get In Her Ears and She Makes Music.
Having honed their sound during the lockdown Femegades, also comprising Emily (bass), Simone (drums) and Tom (guitar), produced their debut EP ‘Pornsick’. Their socially conscious lyrics and raucous alternative rock sound has seen them headline the likes of Camden Rocks Presents as well as picking up press around the world ranging from Radio Castor in France to Wikimetal in Brazil.
