Flume’s ‘Skin’ wins Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic album

Flume‘s sophomore album Skin propelled him from an underground dance music leader into a commercially viable influencer in the mainstream. The LP, which included such hits as the Kai-assisted “Never Be Like You” and the Tove Lo collaboration “Say It,” injected Harley Streten into the airwaves and a much broader audience.

Now, Skin has won the Australian producer his first-ever Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic album. Flume’s album was up against works from Jean-Michel Jarre, Underworld, Tycho, and Louie Vega. The award comes after Flume’s “Never Be Like You” was beaten by The Chainsmokers’ “Don’t Let Me Down” in the category for Best Dance Recording.

The album’s second companion EP is due for release Friday, February 17.
