Argentine DJ/producer Franco Schmidt makes his Hot Creations debut with ‘Némesis’, bringing his growing groove-driven sound to Jamie Jones’ renowned imprint across two fresh club-focused cuts. The title track pairs a rolling groove with a punchy rhythmic character, while ‘Ecléctico’ rounds out the release with a darker, moodier side of Schmidt’s dancefloor-minded sound and approach.
For Schmidt, the release carries particular significance as the first Argentine artist to land an EP on Hot Creations, while his admiration for Jamie Jones provided a direct source of inspiration: “Releasing with Hot Creations is a real pleasure and a source of pride for me, as I’m the first Argentine to release an EP on the label. My inspiration for making the track was Jamie; I have enormous admiration and respect for his entire career. I’m very grateful for the opportunity they’ve given me.”
The release follows a growing run of international activity for Schmidt, whose music has taken him from his native Argentina to stages across Colombia, Peru, Spain and Italy. Alongside his work as a DJ and producer, he is also the founder of Sugaro Music, continuing to develop his own platform while refining a sound built around groove, identity and a direct connection with the dancefloor. Now, Schmidt adds Hot Creations to his catalogue with ‘Némesis’ – a release that brings his Argentine roots to one of house music’s most established imprints.
