Multi faceted producer / musician / songwriter / DJ Les Gordon (Marc Mifune) is poised to announce details of a brand new album with the arrival of ‘ALTURA’ due this Spring via Sony Music France. A personal, introspective body of work experimenting with a myriad of influences ranging from East Asian and Arabic music, electronic, pop and R&B, Les Gordon creates a soundtrack full of emotion that takes us on a blissful ride.
He says: “This album represents elevation, a certain vision of heights. The artwork was shot on the famous cliffs of Etretat (France) and stands for elementary notions. Airy vibes, loads of textures, plenty of colours. From muscle beats to reggaeton influences, I wanted to create a unique and complex sound. I sampled vocals from the Middle East, paired with synths and warm guitars, drawing an extraordinary voyage in the listeners’ mind. Close your eyes, and follow the lead. This is an album that would feel almost like a journey through a whole year and its seasons.”
Les Gordon’s trajectory is on the rise, his early releases on iconic Parisian label Kitsuné drew accolades from tastemaker press like Complex, Wonderland, NYLON, Clash and Kaltblut Magazine. The acclaimed debut album ‘LA’ released in 2018 spawned the hit single ‘Lantern’, garnering over 11 million streams on Spotify. Not one to rest on his laurels, Les Gordon evolves his never-ending love for electronic music by pushing his own creative boundaries ever further. At ease with strings, chords and pads, the subtle mix of all elements seems to be his recipe to build his world.
With ‘ALTURA’, he literally invites us to follow him on an epic journey, traversing the globe. A classically trained musician, Les Gordon is adept with various instruments including the cello and guitar and will embark on a series of live shows with his new band this summer.
