February 16th, 2023 — Dominating the bass circuit with his electro flair and momentous remixes, bass powerhouse producer Crankdat returns to Monstercat today and joins forces with New Zealand rapper Savage for their new single, “Move Back.” While “Move Back” began with a sound reflecting Spanish Mariachi Matador music, Crankdat switched gears by honing in on the melody fusing his notorious bouncy punches and slaughtering drops for a surefire festival anthem with Savage’s vocals leading front and center.

Crankdat shares, “The demo of this song was originally titled “Ride the Bull,” because to me it sounded like some Spanish Mariachi Matador stuff. I’ve loved “Swing” and “Freaks” for a long time, so I was all about working with Savage.”
Since his first release on the label in 2018, Crankdat has emerged as a Monstercat Uncaged fan favourite, leading to his releases amassing over 61 million streams. A meteoric virtuoso known as one of the masterminds behind the hit single “Kneel Before Me,” and graphic visionary of the infamous ‘Sad Robot’ character, Crankdat continues to take his music and self-crafted visuals to the next level. This month will see Crankdat close out his first headline run in three years, ‘Return of the Crank,’ hitting over 28 cities and selling out shows including his home state stop at Skully’s Music-Diner in Columbus, OH. Last year, he opened for Steve Aoki at Amnesia, played to a packed crowd at Avalon in LA, and made his Tomorrowland debut, In 2023, he’ll make his Ultra Music Festival debut in Miami, return to Tomorrowland, play at Project GLOW Festival in DC, and announce more live performances.

Savage Bio
Savage is a New Zealand rapper and a former member of hip hop group, The Deceptikonz. In 2008, Savage was the first New Zealand hip hop artist to have a commercial single achieve platinum certification status in the United States. The “International Breakthrough” accolade of the Pacific Music Awards was created in his honour. Savage also has applied his recognizable voice in the electronic dance music space with 5x platinum hit ”Freaks” with Timmy Trumpet, and 4 times platinum hit ”Swing” with Joel Fletcher. In 2018, Savage’s Song with Timmy Trumpet gained Riaa Gold status in the United States.
