A masterclass in tension and release, “Hold Me One More Time” plunges listeners into an eerie soundscape of haunting pitched-up vocals and hypnotic leads. The track’s melodic despair morphs into seismic drops of growling basslines, jagged synth bursts, and sharp, breakbeat rhythms. The result is an arresting journey through the shadows of hope, heartbreak, and resilience.
“To me, this track represents returning to a destructive relationship in the hope of rekindling what was once beautiful, only to find yourself trapped in the same cycle as before. They haven’t changed; you simply escaped, but they weren’t finished draining your energy. As enticing as it may be, we must learn to change course, break away from the past, and shatter the cycle—a sentiment reflected in the song’s drop.”
For over a decade, Ghastly has defied expectations, blurring lines between dubstep, trap, and bass house. From his breakout OWSLA hit “Crank It” with Lil Jon and Mija to his genre-bending sophomore album ‘Haunted Haus,’ which debuted in Apple Music’s ‘Top 5 Dance’ charts, his catalog reflects an artist fearless in innovation. In 2022, he unveiled GHENGAR, a darker, metal-infused alter ego that launched with the ‘Sacrifice’ and ‘ADHD’ EPs, alongside sold-out tours and horror-inspired stage productions.
Now, Ghastly bridges the gap between his two creative worlds. “Hold Me One More Time” marks his first release in two years, setting the tone for his upcoming Ghastly vs. GHENGAR double-header hosted at The Observatory in Orange County. The two-night showcase will debut his dual personas, offering fans a rare look at his full artistic spectrum.
With his Bassrush Records debut, Ghastly reaffirms his status as a trailblazer in bass music, channeling raw emotion into cutting-edge sound design. “Hold Me One More Time” not only reflects his evolution but solidifies his place at the forefront of the ever-shifting electronic landscape.

More About Ghastly
farm. From childhood, he was an entertainer and an entrepreneur, giving guided tours to field trips that visited the farm and selling his toys and T-shirts on his days off. Despite his modest upbringing, David knew from early on that music was his life’s calling, diving into production and recording his own music by the age of 12. As a teenager, he formed a death metal/grindcore band called The Irish Front, performing as its vocalist. Their success allowed him to tour the country, and he became hooked on both the energy of the crowd and the thrill of performing. When the band parted ways, David moved to Los Angeles with $1,000 and a stubborn dream. After years of persistence, he launched his solo career as Ghastly, earning recognition with the hit collaboration with Lil Jon and Mija, “Crank It,” released on Skrillex’s OWSLA label. In 2018, Ghastly unveiled ‘The Mystifying Oracle,’ his debut full-length album featuring 13 supernatural tracks. Shortly after its release, he embarked on The Mystifying Oracle Tour, delivering an electrifying live experience with its innovative stage production. In 2019, he brought another creative vision to life, debuting his interactive Haunted House stage at a headline show at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium. 2022 marked a new chapter for Ghastly with the release of his sophomore album, ‘Haunted Haus,’ which showcased his distinct fusion of house and future bass and debuted in the top 5 Dance albums on Apple Music. Following its success, Ghastly launched the Haunted Haus Tour, elevating his live performances and captivating audiences across North America. That same year, David introduced GHENGAR, a heavier, metal-inspired project. He debuted the ‘NECROMANCER EP’ and embarked on the North American NECROMANCER TOUR, complete with horror-themed production and his now-signature GHENGAR mask. Throughout 2023 and 2024, GHENGAR soared to new heights with the highly successful FINAL BOSS TOUR and the sold out SACRIFICE TOUR across North America, and the release of his widely acclaimed ‘SACRIFICE EP’ and ‘ADHD EP.’ After establishing GHENGAR as far more than a side project, David reignited the Ghastly project with the release of his single “Hold Me One More Time,” marking his first Ghastly release in two years. This milestone sets the stage for Ghastly vs. GHENGAR, his highly anticipated two-night headline event at Santa Ana’s Observatory in early 2025. David’s genre-spanning style, ranging from emotional melodies to heavy bass anthems, continues to captivate audiences worldwide. Whether performing as Ghastly or GHENGAR, his ever-evolving sound and innovative artistry ensure his legacy remains as dynamic and impactful as his music.
