Label head, Kevin McKay commented,
“We have been stunned by the events in Ukraine, and we want to help those affected by the conflict. Music can unite people behind a common cause, and brilliant anti-war songs are wonderfully effective. One of our favourites is ‘War’ by Edwin Starr. One of our artists, Stanny Abram, felt the same and has created this 2022 house remix.”
Known for its classic refrain, “War, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing!” Edwin Starr’s iconic track unfortunately remains as relevant now as it was when it topped the USA Billboard Charts for 3 weeks back in 1970. The track won Starr a Grammy and with this remix, Glasgow Underground and Stanny Abram hope to take its powerful message to dancefloors everywhere while raising much needed funds for those suffering in the Ukraine conflict.
