Martinique-born pianist, composer and singer Grégory Privat presents ‘Darling’, the title track from his third solo album of the same name, a record on which he plays every instrument himself.
Over more than fifteen years, Grégory Privat has built a singular musical language rooted in jazz and the Creole traditions of his island. Classically trained before turning to self-taught improvisation, he has released around ten albums to international acclaim, with coverage from Jazz Magazine, DownBeat and Télérama. He is a winner of the Académie du Jazz’s Prix Django Reinhardt and the Adami “Artist to Watch” award, and was named Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters in 2025. He is also the founder of the label Buddham Jazz.

With Darling, Grégory Privat pushes his solo practice further still, taking on every part of the record himself and marking the latest chapter in a musical journey that moves between intimacy and wide horizons.
As a further press angle, Privat has also released a live session of ‘Dwèt Crazy’, another track from Darling, out 2nd October 2026 via Believe Music. The Creole title translates as “crazy fingers”, and the session finds Grégory Privat alone at a loop station, layering piano improvisation with synth, vocal and percussion loops to sound like a full ensemble.
“I’m playing this piece alone, but I wanted it to sound as if there were many musicians,” he says. “A very fast tune created to bring excitement and happiness.”
Grégory Privat continues to tour widely, with upcoming dates including Teatro della Tosse in Genova (26th September 2026) and Jazzclub Unterfahrt in Munich (15th February 2027).
