Southern California rock outfit TYBIRD release their new single ‘Out of My Mind’ on 25th September, a hard hitting track that captures the band’s evolving sound and unapologetic approach to rock.
Fronted by Ty Morgan, TYBIRD blends gritty vocals, driving guitar riffs and big, emotionally charged melodies into a sound that feels both familiar and fresh. Built around the chemistry of a real live band, their music is rooted in the raw energy of rock while drawing from the attitude, swagger and songwriting of the genre’s greats.
‘Out of My Mind’ opens with an acoustic guitar intro before breaking into hard hitting instrumentals, building into a heavy guitar solo that gives the track a gritty, powerful and authentic feel. The song was written by Ty Morgan in his bedroom during his senior year of high school, at a time when he faced pressure from teachers and those around him to follow a traditional path rather than pursue music. It went on to become one of the first songs the band recorded together, and was mixed by Brian Scheuble, whose credits include Mötley Crüe, Tom Petty, Stevie Nicks and Jon Bon Jovi.
Speaking on the single, Ty Morgan:
“‘Out of My Mind’ is about what it feels like to have so much pressure coming at you from every direction while trying to stay true to yourself. I wrote it in my bedroom during my senior year of high school, when I was being pressured to follow the traditional path of going to college while I was choosing to put everything I had into music. I poured a lot of emotion and frustration into this song, and I think that’s what makes it so personal to me. It was also one of the first songs we recorded together as a band, so it really represents TYBIRD and what we stand for: trusting yourself, taking the risk, and going all in on what you believe in.”
With a growing audience and a strong presence across social platforms, TYBIRD have built a community of fans known as the ‘Birdies’, who feel like part of the band. Their previous releases have amassed over 35,000 streams, secured local radio play in Laguna Beach, and been reposted by Instagram accounts with over one million followers.
‘Out of My Mind’ is out from the 25th of September on all streaming platforms.
