Next up on wAFF’s increasingly popular NATURE imprint, Italian DJ/Producer Lorenzo de Blanck
follows up releases on Moon Harbour, Rebellion, SK Recordings, Hottrax and many more with an
impressive new EP titled ‘My Beat’. Alongside three fresh cuts from de Blanck, the EP also features a
standout remix from Take Notes label boss and respected Romanian artist Mahony.
‘My Beat’ provides a worthy intro of punchy drums, shuffling percussion and juicy analogue
undertones. An unignorable bassline melody drives the core of the mix, orbited by rolling rhythms,
energetic fills and a catchy vocal hook. ‘We Need To Go’ comes next, bringing a similar vibe to its
predecessor. Hard-hitting authentic drum sounds flood the mix, ricocheting off the rattle of piercing
hat and shaker grooves, sliced into by another cleverly chopped and arranged vocal hook and
dissected by a sea of modular melodic splashes throughout – this one has heaps of character.
“Gimme Some” takes you into the second half of the EP as things get a little deeper and more stripped back. Littered with underground flavours throughout, its base of minimal-esque rhythms and coarse
analogue musicality rides a pleasant tide of peaks and troughs as the harmonic intensity twists and
turns throughout the track. Mahony closes the release with his “Gimme Some” remix, taking things
even further underground. Bringing that renowned Romanian sound to the table – his retake features
plenty of the original’s standout melodic features, all rolled up into that signature shuddering, wobbly
format that we have come to know and love from many great artists to pioneer that sound throughout
the years.

Lorenzo is also the main man of Simple from Ferrara (IT), one of the best underground
parties currently held in Italy, where he shares the dj booth with great djs like
Patrick Topping, Darius Syrossian, Hector Couto, wAFF, Richy Ahmed, Stacey Pullen,
Richy Ahmed, Cuartero, Dennis Cruz, Radio Slave, Marco Faraone, Leon and many
others.
Lorenzo is also a regular guest on some of the major radio shows such as “It’s All About
the Music”, the official Music On radio show on Ibiza Global Radio in Ibiza, Data
Transmission, “The Spot” Solardo radio show and many more.
