The widely respected DJ and producer Groove Assassin steps up to remix a classic from legendary American vocalist Melba Moore on Soulfuric. Hailing from the UK, the prolific selector, remixer and electronic musician Groove Assassin is known for his extensive house knowledge, often interpolating familiar music from genre legends to form his own exciting edits for the heads, including his edit of 2023’s ‘Hallelujah In Heaven’ from legendary artists Ben Westbeech and KON as The Vision on Defected.
The Grammy award-nominated and Tony award-winning Melba Moore’s legacy is still felt globally, and her 2005 staple ‘My Heart Belongs To You’ is a favourite of house music fans in the know, receiving edits upon release from legendary artists Ron Carroll, Jon Cutler, and then modern Dutch powerhouse Ferreck Dawn in 2019. Now Groove Assassin adds his unmistakeable house sound, giving love to the timeless track through masterful vocal manipulation and addictive, groove-laden patterns.
