Los Angeles, CA – Tuesday, September 8 – Edinburgh-born producer Grum has reunited with Sydney’s singer-songwriter Amba Shepherd to make their debut on Dreamstate Records with new trance single “Unsaid.”
Grum has been an extraordinary talent at the forefront of Scotland’s electronic music scene for more than a decade. His versatility gleams across the trance, house, techno and progressive spectrum, and his artistic reach and dexterity fully come to life through his hybrid hardware live sets. Multi-platinum artist Amba Shepherd’s ethereal voice has become one of the most recognizable in dance music.
A vocal-fueled trance single, “Unsaid” explores the power of words left unspoken. Ethereal and soul-stirring, Shepherd’s silky croons touch on the weight of holding back the truth as the track crescendos from lush, orchestral arrangements into driving progressive rhythms, dotted by chirping analog arpeggios, shimmery textures and crunchy basslines.
Grum and Shepherd previously teamed up on their collaboration “Slow Motion” in April, which drew tastemaker support from Andrew Rayel, Kyau & Albert, Super8 & Tab, Genix, Ronski Speed, Frankyeffe and label heads Above & Beyond.
Grum has released four full-length albums since 2010, frequently collaborating with artists including Natalie Shay, Able Joseph and Dash Jones. His music has been championed by Armin van Buuren, deadmau5, Solomun, Gareth Emery, and CamelPhat, and he has headlined shows at Level 8 LA and Anjunabeats’ ‘Open-Air’ at Aura Cocina & Bar, as well as performing at ABGT500 at Banc of California Staidum, Dreamstate SoCal, EDC Las Vegas, ATOMIKA Festival and Above & Beyond’s ‘Anjunabeats Warehouse‘ in Birmingham. He is also set to perform at ABGT 700 at The Gorge on September 12.
Shepherd has released with industry giants including Hardwell, Porter Robinson, Tiësto, R3HAB, Dash Berlin, Afrojack, Ferry Corsten, and Laidback Luke. She has earned two IDMA nominations, numerous appearances on the Billboard Dance chart, and a Top 10 placement on the ARIA Club chart.
